This body of work was born from a late-summer journey through Alaska, a great looping path that began and ended in Fairbanks, carrying us along the George Parks Highway, through the vastness of Denali National Park, to Talkeetna, Girdwood, Seward, Homer, Palmer, Copper Valley, and back up the Richardson Highway.
We set out to escape the heat of Ojai, our small California town of artists and seekers, expecting little more than respite. What we encountered instead was overwhelming beauty: sweeping vistas, mountains draped in cloud and light, fields unfolding into rivers, and the quiet wisdom of the land itself. Along the way, we met stories of the Dena’ina people, whose deep values of community and reverence for nature left an indelible mark on our hearts.
These works are my postcards of remembrance, layered visions shaped by awe, gratitude, and discovery. They reflect not just the landscapes we passed through, but the transformation of seeing the earth anew, of learning to listen, and of carrying home a sense of reverence. May they invite you into that same journey of wonder, reflection, and connection.
