This series was inspired by a visit to Lotusland the enchanting private estate owned by the visionary Ganna Walska in Montecito, California. I took numerous photos to serve as the foundation for my Asian-inspired series. 

 

The initial artwork was digitally crafted scanning my hand painted Gelli prints and then layering them with intricate graphic renderings. Although my first attempts involved wood engravings made on my laser cutting machine, I soon recognized the potential for superior results by just digitally layering. This explorations marked a fresh direction in my printmaking journey and a return to figurative work.
