For years, I viewed Lake Casitas with sadness, a reminder of drought in the Ojai Valley. After conversation with my gallerist, I visited the lake, capturing its essence in photographs. When the rains returned, filling the lake, I felt a renewed sense of and reflection on restoration. These paintings are meditations on renewal and hope, serving as a daily prayer practice beneath their calm surfaces.
